• Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June 2015. The main objective of this scheme is to provide housing to poor and working class families, for which financial assistance is provided by the government. Under this scheme, the central government has been giving financial assistance to people for building houses since 2015. The benefit of this scheme is given to those families who do not have a house yet. They are given benefits for both rural and urban areas.
• People who do not have their own permanent house to live in can take advantage of this scheme to build a house. The goal of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is that every family living below the poverty line should have their own house and they should not have to take a house on rent. Let us tell you that a target has been set to build three crore houses in the 3 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure. Through this scheme, assistance will be given to provide houses to the poor and middle class homeless people of urban and rural areas.
• Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, financial assistance of Rs. 120000 is provided to the beneficiaries. This amount is made available to the beneficiaries in three easy installments. It is transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary. Apart from this, the beneficiary is given a separate financial assistance of Rs. 12000 to build a toilet in his house.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of providing new houses to three crore people in his new tenure. Eligible citizens residing in the plains are given assistance of Rs. 120000 whereas eligible candidates residing in the hilly areas are given financial assistance up to Rs. 130000.
